A lifetime obsession with the pursuit of beauty through mechanical form. From chaos to absolute order.

Art Deco Inspired

Clockwork Automata

Kinetic Clockwork sculptures channeled through a lens of art deco and existentialism, driven by the pursuit of perfection in spite of that ever faulty medium, the human mind. A breakdown of form to function. A magic trick whose sole purpose is to reveal the magician behind the intricate transference of energy, from one lifeless vessel to another, and the implications that arise for both. A hypnotic musing on the nature of consciousness disguised as pursuits of refinement of delicate mechanical phantasmagoria.

The chaos of of creativity, refined by engineering.

  • DIY Kits

Over my years as an automata artist, I kept all my plans and methods to myself. As more and more automata kits became available, I decided that perhaps I too should share the fascination of building a clockwork piece yourself.

  • Assembled and hand painted

Complete hand assembled and painted clockwork pieces are made to your order.
These are pieces refined over nearly 8 years of work, shipped priority with warranty, to anywhere in the world.

  • Take part in the creation

Of all the things I love doing, creating custom automata pieces is pretty much at the top of my list. A time taking process as the piece is refined and tweaked to your vision. Not limited by size or medium, the final result is made to my absolute creative ability.

Dream power…

I’ve had visions of building clockwork toys ever since I was in high school, I remember being able to see the visions of sprawling clockwork cities, clear as day in my mind. I later found out that I have synesthesia, and one of the ways that it translates music and sound is into visual overlays. Like shimmering holograms onto reality before my eyes.

The only thing I didn’t know how to do was to make them real. So I drew and sketched these concepts as best as I could so one day my future self may finally come across the medium and skills required.

…realized through Machines

After making being involved in projects as a silhouette artist and shadow puppeteer, I had over 90 different artwork and countless pages of sketches for clockwork toys that I was one day hoping to make.

It all made sense when I came across laser cutting due to needing to speed up my process of art creation to speed up productivity. I had too many ideas and it took too long for my hand alone to cut them out.

So I stumbled into the field of machining and industrial application. I bought a cheap laser and got to work. Cutting out thousands of wooden pieces and trying to understand how they could fit together. Learning from old mechanical engineering books from the 1800s, and combining research from Victorian era automata makers and animation mechanisms of the early 20th century.
